Please help! Can’t add new question to registration form. |
|
Hi there, When you say you can’t add questions, what happens? Or are you asking how to add questions to the registration form? If so we have some documentation here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/add-questions-event-espresso-question-groups/ |
|
Thank you, Tony. I looked for answers on the forum and found that. I tried following those instructions, but I couldn’t get it to work. I must be doing something wrong. The question does not appear. I want to add the text field “Parent or Guardian (if applicable)” above the comment question, but I can’t get it to show up. Here’s the form I’m working with: https://cprdave.com/registration-checkout/?uts=1548255818#checkout |

I can’t view your checkout as it is linked to your session, which event are you registering onto? |
|
Any and all, it doesn’t matter. The registration form is common to all events. How can I best help you help me? |

With Event Espresso that’s not always the case, you can select specific question groups on specific events and that’s what is asked on the checkout when registering onto said event. That’s why I asked as I didn’t want to view Event A only to find the event your working on, say Event B has different question groups selected 🙂 So your only using the ‘Personal Information’ question group on your events, right? In that case go to Event Espresso -> Registration -> Question Groups. Edit the ‘Personal Information’ question group. There you will have, ‘Student First Name’, Student Last Name’, ‘Email Address’, ‘Cell Phone Number’ and ‘Comments’ with a checkmark. Find your ‘Parent or Guardian (if applicable)’ question in the list on the right and make sure it has a check in the checkbox so its included in the question group. Now, if it already has a checkbox and still isn’t displayed, it could have been setup to be and Admin Only question, to check that go to the Questions tab (same section as above just different tab). Find the ‘Parent or Guardian (if applicable)’ question there (there could be multiple pages) and edit the question and make sure the ‘Admin-Only Question?’ option is NOT checked for that question. Once the question is shown on the form we can work on the order as thats the easy part. |

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! That did it! And I dragged and dropped the question into the right position. Thank you again SO much! |

Great, I’m glad that worked for you 🙂 Just to note, you don’t have to have all of your questions within that single group (right now they make sense in that group, but you may others that would fit better in another). You can create your own question groups within the Question Groups tab, then assign questions to that group in the same way you did above. (Note don’t add the same question to multiple groups that you will ask at the same time) The only difference after that is you’ll also need to select the new group on the event itself, in the event editor you’ll see this section – http://take.ms/1CBvc You just check the checkbox for the group(s) you want to ask for the primary registrant and additional registrants, as mention that can be different groups for each individual event. |
