I noticed that our logo was not displaying on event invoices so I went to General Settings>your organisation to check it out.

The correct logo was showing under Company Logo but I thought I’d try replacing it to see if this then worked on the invoice

No I cannot get a new logo to upload at all. I have tried resizing to optimum resolution and I have tried using all three upload options (url, from media and upload file) – all without success.

I do not get any error message, it just returns me to the main page but without any logo. I have saved the changes and still nothing appears.

Any advice please?

Thanks

Hi there,

Go to Event Espresso -> General Settings.

Click the upload image button and then go to the Media library nd find the image, click on it and you’ll see something like this – http://take.ms/PZuz7

If nothing is set within the ‘Link URL’ field, click on the ‘File URL’ button – http://take.ms/PZuz7

The URL should now show – http://take.ms/ITrHJ

Then click ‘Insert into post’.

Does it save the image now?

Hi Tony.
Thanks for this. Yes, it has saved doing it that way. Odd that it wouldn’t save by just pasting the URL in but thanks for the pointers!

The logo still doesn’t show in the invoices but at least it’s a start! Thanks.

Wait, so pasting the same URL directly into that field doesn’t work but using the media uploader to add the URL for you, does?

Can you link me to a test invoice I can view? OR an event I can register onto to view an invoice?

Hi Tony
I didn’t paste the url into that field previously but going back one step I tried the Upload Image button and then the From URL tab. This option didn’t work.

With regards to the invoice, you can register for a test event here:

Thanks!

I didn’t paste the url into that field previously but going back one step I tried the Upload Image button and then the From URL tab. This option didn’t work.

They all rely on the Link URL (from URL has ‘Link Image To:’) so if that’s empty you need to click either ‘File URL’ or ‘Link to image’ button before clicking Insert into post.

With regards to the invoice, you can register for a test event here:

It looks like you set this site up on another domain first then migrated over, the original domain being related to coffee and work 🙂

The messages system generates the messages based on the the current domain and then saves the template to the database so the templates will need to be updated.

If you have not altered the Receipt and Invoice templates at all you can just go to: Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default message templates -> Receipt.

In that section, you’ll find a ‘reset templates’ button which will regenerate the Receipt template for you using the correct domain. (Repeat this for the Invoice template but note that any customizatiosn to those templates will be lost)

Theres an exception to this and its with regards to the INVOICE_LOGO shortcode – http://take.ms/rIlfz

If you go to Event Espresso -> Payment methods -> Invoice (temporarily activate it if it’s not active) and then look in the ‘Logo Image’ field, does that have a URL for the old domain? If so empty that field and save to tell EE to use the setting within General Settings.
