Hi there.

I cannot get the Recurring Events to look like the example you have posted on your site, and I cannot get the Recurring Event Dropdown to show up on my recurring events.

I am using WordPress 3.8. and EventEspresso version 3.1.36.3.P. This is a new installation.

Here is the link to a sample events category with multiple events: http://lemonyellowpixels.com/stickyartlab/events-after-school-events/

I also tried using the shortcode but the entire string is simply displayed on the page… it doesn’t seem to be parsed like a shortcode. Here is the page I created for one of these types of events: http://lemonyellowpixels.com/stickyartlab/after-school-designbuild-lab/

Also, I do have Custom Types installed.

Hi Nicole,

The Custom Template Add-on needs to be installed and active in order for the Recurring Dropdown Template to work. You can think of the Custom Template Add-on as the Template Manager and the Recurring Template is called by that.

So to start from the beginning do you have the Custom Template Add-on installed and active? if not you’ll need to do this first.

Can you add the shortcode [EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW] above the current one used on this page http://lemonyellowpixels.com/stickyartlab/after-school-designbuild-lab/

They can both be used together on the same, but [EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW] uses the default template included within the Custom Template Add-on (so we can then be sure that’s working as expected) then we can move onto getting the Recurring Template to work also.

Thanks so much for the super helpful reply! I had simply forgotten to active the Custom Template Add-on. It works fine now: http://lemonyellowpixels.com/stickyartlab/after-school-designbuild-lab/

The issue I’m having now is that I have events under the same category, ‘After School’, which are not showing up in the calendar here: http://lemonyellowpixels.com/stickyartlab/stickys-calendar/

The only thing I can think of is that the two sets of events, Drop-Offs and Design/Build Labs, are offered on the same days and times. Yet only the Design/Build events appear on the calendar, without the Drop-Offs. Any ideas?

Thanks again!

On the Calendar Page, what shortcode are you using to call the Calendar?

If you are using a category parameter with the calendar shortcode such as [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR event_category_id=”your_category_identifier”]
could you double check those two sets of events a are in the same category (called above).

Are the drop off events Normal, Active events? (Not waitlist events etc)

The only thing I can think of is that the two sets of events, Drop-Offs and Design/Build Labs, are offered on the same days and times. Yet only the Design/Build events appear on the calendar, without the Drop-Offs. Any ideas?

That should not make a difference, both events should be displayed on the Calendar (I have multiple events on the same date/time on a testing site http://d.pr/i/VQAL all are displayed)

However, it would appear you are using an older version of the Calendar. (again should not actually matter as that would not be the expected behavior with that version either)

You could try updating the calendar but I would recommend performing a FULL backup (files and database) using the guide posted here beforehand:

Hi there.

It turns out it was the calendar add-on. Once I updated it to the latest version, it worked just fine.

I think the issue may have been that I had upgraded the core event-espresso files but the calendar was out of date. Perhaps that discrepancy caused the issue with the multiple events on a single day not displaying on the calendar.

Thank you so much for all of your time and help!
