Cannot Edit Event Description

When setting up an event, I can no longer edit the event description. Whether I view it in “visual” or “text” mode, I cannot even click on the box to enter text. Even when I view past events, the description is uneditable. Has anyone else run into this problem? We barely used/updated the website after March 2020, so I’m not sure what could be causing the conflict.

Hi there,

That usually means there’s a JavaScript error being thrown on the editor, likely from another plugin.

If you open up Chrome Dev Tools (or similar) on the editor and look in the ‘Console’ section, does it show any errors?

Yes, there are a bunch of errors. I’m not even sure where to start.

I’ll need to see those errors to know more.

Can you either post them here, or if preferred send over temp.login details so can view them, you can do that using this form:

Note that fixing conflicts from other plugins isn’t covered under support but I can at least check to see if it’s something within EE itself or form another plugin.

Hmm, there’s something weird going on on your site.

Try disabling Async JavaScript and see if you get the same issue.

That plug-in was added after the problem existed. Even deactivating all plug-ins makes all editors disappear…

Update: After conferring with the hosting site (Bluehost), the issue was within the website’s core files. They fixed it for me.

Ah nice, thanks for the update.

Just to clarify some details on my last reply, the errors shown on your reply matched errors reported with that plugin in their support forums, they were strange but some plugins do some weird and wonderful things! (I’m not saying Async JavaScript is/does, just that is where I would have started first).

Either way, I’m glad they fixed it for you. Any further issues/question just let us know.
