Cannot change from USD (EE4.4.8.p)

For some reason it’s changed from GBP (which I need) to USD. Maybe because I applied a “dollar discount” at one point. I have a UK address in “general settings” and UK selected in “country”. What should I do? thanks.

I tried everything under the sun (changing/checking the organisation address, countries, payment options etc) then:

1. Searched the database for the organisation’s City.
2. Found it in wp_options / ee_config.
3. Edited that randomly (USD to USX) which created a PHP warning about EE_Config_core.php.
4. Noticed the comment in that file: // so if that all went well, and we are not in M-Mode (cuz you can't query the db in M-Mode)
5. Turned OFF maintenance mode.
6. Clicked “Save country details”.

I’m a bit disappointed that this (from what I can see) undocumented feature of maintenance mode caused so much trouble, but otherwise am still happy…

Hi Jonathan,

I have created a ticket for a fix for this to be included within the next version of Event Espresso.

Maintenance Mode should prevent front-end access to events but not prevent you from making changes to Event Espresso. Saving ‘General Settings’ when Maintenance mode is active causes the events to revert to USD which is unexpected.

I have added a note to the ticket to update this thread with any updates.

I have stopped using Maintenance Mode and have put a note on my site to say not to use the online booking system yet. At least I know what caused it! Perhaps a line could be added to the documentation to explain this. Thanks.
