I’ve seen several posts about ticket sales to members vs. non-members, but what I’m wondering is, if there’s a way–or integration–to allow people who signup for the event via Event Espresso ticketing, to be simultaneously be registered with basic WP user account (subscriber)? We are hosting our online, but only subscribers will be able to see the content. My initial plan was to use EventBrite and then email separately with event site info, but have changed course and now am doing event registration on-site. I can still send event access info separately after registration, but if this could be done in one step that would be golden. |
Hi there, Yes, this is possible using the WP User Integration add-on: https://eventespresso.com/product/eea-wp-user-integration/ The event options set on each individual event with that add-on allow for this, see: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/wp-user-integration/#ee4setup |

I went ahead and purchased the user integration and downloaded the S2 plugin. With and without S2, even though I’ve set it to do so under “user integration”, the act of registering for the event is not creating a user account. Since this is a one-off website that we’ll not be using again after this even, we don’t even need different subscriber levels–so S2 may be overpowered for my needs–just basic WP “subscriber” user status would be fine, and any membership plugin can then give permissions for that role. However if I can’t get event espresso’s registration form to create the user account then I’m not going to get anywhere. Can you help me figure out what is going wrong/what I’m doing wrong? Thanks -Greg |
You don’t need S2 for the above, just the add-on itself can create user accounts for you. Can you link me to an event I can take a look at, please? |

OK, so suddenly the user registration process is working. I didn’t change anything but I did arbitrarily open the event and save it, so I wonder if there was something not “activated”. I did have to disable the re-captcha function (unfortunately) because it told me there was an error, and with a bunch of people starting to be notified to register, I can’t have that. In any case, now that this core thing is working, do you know if there’s anyway to customize the login message that goes out? Since this is a subsite on a multisite the default email comes from the parent site, which has little relation. |
When you posted earlier that you had set the settings for ‘User integration’, was that on the event itself or in Event Espresso -> Registration Form -> User integration settings (which is the default settings)? Each event needs those setting set on the event level, with the add-on active when you create an event that will be done on publish, if you had events created before the add-on was installed you’ll need to update them at least once to set the settings on the event level.
The email is triggered from the core function wp_new_user_notification() so you should be able to use any plugin that allows you t change the default new user email, for example: |

Thanks. Yeah that was apparently the problem. The event existed before the add on. Didn’t realize that. Also BNFW did the trick! |
Great, I’m glad it works for you. Any further questions just let us know. |
