Hey guys,

Is there a way we can take payment early on in the registration process and then ask demographic questions after someone has already paid?

Or is there maybe a way to send a follow up email after someone has registered to ask them demographic questions that we can add to their registration?

Thank you
Rick

Hi Rick,

Is there a way we can take payment early on in the registration process and then ask demographic questions after someone has already paid?

Not currently, the steps are:

1. Ticket selection
2. Attendee Information
3. Payment Options
4. Confirmation

It sounds like you would need to swap #2 and #3 but that’s not something we have designed EVent Espresso to handle at this time.

Or is there maybe a way to send a follow up email after someone has registered to ask them demographic questions that we can add to their registration?

Not from within Event Espresso but I’ll explain a little further.

Event groups are assigned to events and they apply to any registrations made on those events.

To allow you to ask additional questions you’d need to set them as the question groups requested by the event then they would be shown on all registrations not just those that follow up.

One option is to use something like Graity Forms for Ninja Forms to create a separate from outside of Event Espresso and then include a link to that form within the confirmation emails (and/or on the thank you page). The details added to that form will not automatically be added to the EE registration but depend on what you need that data for you could use admin only questions and manually transfer those details into the registration (or add some custom code to do it for you based on the form submission).

Thank you Tony for a helpful reply.

Something for you guys to consider in Development. Event organizers like most businesses live on data. However making registration as easy, and short as possible increases conversions.

So collecting basic info, name address, email phone, then dollars is the best way to convert. Then come back to attendees with follow up for that demo data.

Make sense?

Rick
