I have a client that I am building a site for that has an exsiting and does not want to move the DNS until the new site is finished. The current site does not have a Paypal account or email. This is creating a problem with the email needed for the Paypal setup.
I want to know if I can set up a sandbox account at Paypal to test the site and then move the account to the actual Paypal account after the emails are available?
Yes you can. When you set the PayPal account information in Event Espresso > Payment Methods > PayPal you’ll input the sandbox account information and you’ll set “Debug Mode On” to Yes.
Yes you can use a sandbox account, you’ll need to set the payment method to debug mode – http://take.ms/Bekq3
You can set that option in each payment method and it tells the payment method to use the sandbox/testing setup for each provider. With PayPal you also need a sandbox account and to enter the details for that account in the payment method itself (which it sounds like you are already aware of).
So, enable debug mode and add your sandbox credentials and you should be good to go. When moving to ‘live’ just swap out the credentials for the live account and disable debug mode.
