I am using the events calendar widget on our home page and it shows the calendar but no events. |
Hi Stephen, Is the calendar showing events on other pages? Are you seeing any errors on the page when using Chrome developer tools or Firebug? — |

It works on all other pages using the shortcode but the widget does not see to work. I am not seeing any obvious errors. |

Hi, I looked at the site we have for you on file. The theme on that site is using jQuery ver 1.7.2. EE and addons require as a minimum 1.8.3. The WordPress version you are running will use jQuery 1.11.0 by default. As such your theme is over ruling the default WordPress behaviour and making your site run an old version of jQuery. I couldn’t see the widget/calendar elsewhere on the site to make a comparison against the home page instance. |
|
Do you have any recommendations? Is there a theme similar to the one I have that would work better with your plugin. I have the calendar running here on my site as well for comparison. http://temp1492.gohtci.com/training/schedule/ |
Hi, Could you check with your theme author to ensure it is the latest version of the theme? You may also want to try something like this for restoring the bundled version of jQuery: https://wordpress.org/plugins/restore-bundled-jquery/ — |

I have the latest cherry framework running on the site which includes updated jquery. I downloaded the suggested plugin. Still the widget does not work but the calendar page with shortcode does. Although I have noticed that I have to drop a menu option down for it to start working the first time then it seems to work fine. |
Alright, please try this plugin for the Cherry theme framework: https://gist.github.com/lorenzocaum/c7bd26b229fa4db033fc It can’t be installed through the WordPress dashboard as that will likely show an error. Login to your site with your preferred SFTP/FTP client and browse to this location: wp-content/plugins Then upload the file there. Next, go to your WordPress admin (WP dashboard) and click on Plugins. Then activate it. — |

Hi Stephen, I’m not sure that this is a jQuery issue. If you can take a few minutes and do some troubleshooting to narrow down the cause of the breakage, it will help us help you know what to do next. Here are a few trouble-shooting steps that I recommend: Rule out other plugins by deactivating all plugins except for Event Espresso core and the Event Calendar add-on. Rule out a conflicting theme script by installing the theme test drive plugin and running the twentyfourteen theme in test drive mode. |

The github file has seemed to fix the issue. I also tried your suggestions Josh without success. Thanks for the help onward and upward |
Hi there Stephen, Glad to hear it worked. Could you do us a favor and reply with the version of the Cherry framework that you are using? This will be helpful for other members that would like to use that theme framework. Thank you. — |

I am using cherry framework 3.1.4 |
