Hi,

Question on the Calendar. We need to or would like to be able to style the FIRST event in a series in the calendar that will denote all the FIRST classes in the series of six that are recurring. Perhaps an icon before the title or a background image, or special border on the background of the event in the calendar.

I’ve tried to inspect the elements using developer tools in safari, but the css is quite complex. Can you let me know if it is possible to style just the FIRST event in a series, and provide some css to help.

Thanks!

Hi, recurring events do not receive any special CSS styles as compared to regular events on the calendar. However, your idea here could work:

Perhaps an icon before the title or a background image, or special border on the background of the event in the calendar.

Just create a set of recurring events. Then go back and at the HTML symbol (http://www.w3schools.com/charsets/ref_utf_symbols.asp
) of your choice to the title of the first event and save changes.

Lorenzo, I tried to add a symbol, and it doesn’t convert the code into the symbol, but just puts the code in. If you goto: http://www.allaboutdogs.ca/class-calendar and click to March, you will see ♠ Puppy Agility Intermediate as a title, instead of the code. Yes, part of the objective was met – I can assign only to first class of the event, but it’s not converting the code. Any suggestions? Please.

I meant for it to include the code not the symbol in the last response. It is not converting the symbol form ♠ Puppy Agility Intermediate I tried all the types of code, html, dec and hex. none are converting. Is it a browser issue?

It’s ok I fixed it, I didn’t realize I had to copy and paste the actual HTML icon, not use the dec or hex code.

You are correct and sorry for not clarifying as I copied and pasted it from the chart on the W3 schools site.

I took a look at the calendar and it looks like its working now.

Thanks
