Hi guys.
Installed the calendar plugin 4.3 and all went well. (EE 4.9.9)
Added short code [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR] to a page but only get two drop down boxes appearing; no calendar. Have tried with other short codes but same outcome. On a blank “test page” nothing shows.
I’m guessing I have missed something.

This sounds like a JavaScript error. There are a few possible causes to this. You can rule these out one by one:
1) A theme conflict. You can rule this out by temporarily switching to the default WordPress theme.
2) A plugin conflict. You can rule this out by temporarily deactivating any other installed WordPress plugins.

All those options sound like something I am not keen to do as it can upset things.
Calendar isn’t a “game changer” for me so i will have to live without it.

Hi John,
When you temporarily deactivate a plugin or theme, it’s temporary, and only for the purpose of troubleshooting. There may be other problems with your site besides the calendar not loading and it will be best to iron those out rather than let them linger.
