From my customer…and this happens pretty often:

The problem is not so much new classes… What I see happen occasionally is a class that has been on the calendar for weeks – the picture suddenly missing. I had this happen a couple times in the last few months and assumed it was a glitch and just tried to fix it. Both times I had to resave the image to make it work

Look here at November 15th. The thumbnail does not show but when you roll over it shows the image:

Can you go into edit the event for the Nov. 15th, and make sure that it has a featured image set, and that the featured image is set to the link URL?

The featured image box is over on the right side column.

They do it the exact same way everyday. I checked and it has the symbol for a missing image there…so yes technically it should be there but its not.

Hi Dorian,

I’m not exactly sure what is triggering this. Does this happen on its own or are the images sporadically going missing?

Sporadic. And it happens on all sites that have Event Espresso.

Hi Dorian,

You’ll need to check what they have for the Link URL. It sounds like sometimes they are choosing the Attachment Post URL when they should be choosing the File URL after they upload the image. There is a difference between the two. One is a file, the other is a WordPress post. The calendar will only load image files, it will not load posts with images on them, so you will only see an image in the calendar if they’ve selected File URL.

You’ll know if it’s an Attachment Post URL if it has ?attachment_id= in the URL. If it has this, you’ll need to change it to use the File URL by clicking the File URL button.

Here’s a screenshot that shows the Featured image uploader’s UI, with the File URL button outlined in pink and the recommended image size outlined with an arrow.
