I want the ability to select a month to view. As people are scrolling through the calendar, when they click an event for more details and then go back to the calendar, it takes them back to the current month. I would like to add a drop down or event just hyperlinks for each month to display on the calendar page.
What is the best way to do this? Do I have create a calendar page for each month and add as a hyper link? Ideally, they could choose Year and month they want to look at.

Yes, you can create Calendar for each month, or you can also add them in your categories, maybe categories like July Event, Aug Event etc.
