We’re using the calendar short code with category slug names to filter events and it appears to filter for the first month viewed, but after that inital month, if you move to the next month it shows all events, not the filtered ones.

Note: Couldn’t get the category id to work so used the slug. Perhaps this has something to do with it?

Here is a page with the calendar where the filter is not working:

Thanks!

Hi there,

I’ve just tested this on your site by loading the above link.

Selecting a category from the dropdown to filter the events and then skipped through to August 2020, the events are still being filtered by category:

Is there something else I need to do to reproduce this?

Which browser are you using?

Hi tony, we don’t want to have the drop downs at all, we were using them for testing to make sure we hadn’t missed something when creating the events and applying categories to them.

Instead, we want to use the calendar short code with the event category predefined for each specific event page that it will appear on.
This way, when someone is viewing the calendar on a page for a given event they can only see the dates relevant to that event type.

I have tried to use the category id in the short code and it does not work at all.

I have used the category slug and it works, but as soon as you move the page forward in the calendar to the next month it drops the category filter that was applied in the short code.

Is it a pagination/filtering issue?

Thanks

I’ve used the shortcode:
[ESPRESSO_CALENDAR
category_slug=paris-bike-tour-the-highlights month=05 year=2020]

So the filtering works correctly when tested with the dropdown, but I cannot only display the relevant events via shortcode.

Hi,

Can you change the shortcode from:

[ESPRESSO_CALENDAR
category_slug=paris-bike-tour-the-highlights month=05 year=2020]

to:

[ESPRESSO_CALENDAR
event_category_id=paris-bike-tour-the-highlights month=05 year=2020]
