Hello, I just recently installed the calendar feature and I need a little help customizing it. I have classes that run for 3 to 5 months, each class on a day of the week. Right now the calendar is showing that the classes are running everyday for all the months I have inserted i the start and end date. I need the class to show only on the week day the class is actually happening for its monthly duration. For example if I have a class on monday from 7-10PM from January till May, then each MOnday I should see the class on the calendar. Hi,

You would need to create a separate event for it to appear like that. You could use the duplicate button to quickly build out the events, then update the dates, and set the registration URL to point to the original event via the event editor.

Hi Lorenzo, so you are saying that that I need to create an event for each friday starting from January to May ( which is the whole duration of the class) correct? It seems to me like a huge ordeal!
Also I do not want these duplicate events to appear in my category event page ( I am using a category shortcode for that) so how would that work?

Hi,

If you would like each to appear as an entry for each day on the calendar (e.g Monday), then you would need to create a new event for each entry.

You could categorize only the first event and then the others won’t appear in the category list.

HI lorenzo, the issue is that every duplicate of the event that I created will send to a different check out page and It will be messy to keep track of all the students. I have treid to set an event to go to an alternative check out page but for some reason the ticket selector disappears.

HOw can we go about customization of the calendar to our needs? Can this be done with an order priority support?

Hi,

If you need the calendar to show an entry for each weekly class, then you would need separate events as the calendar shows events that have been created.

Regarding the ticket selector, it should disappear for any events where you are using the alternative registration option. This is because you are setting it to link to the original event.

So just to clarify Lorenzo—we would have to create 16 events for a class that has the duration of 16 weeks? (Even though there should only be one ticket bought for this course.)

How would you suggest we go about achieving this result without having to input 16 events …with only 1 event actually holding the ticket for purchase? (this is also a bit excessive work for us if we want to just set up courses that have reoccurring events)

If I opened a priority ticket, would there be someone who could customize the calendar to facilitate us creating courses with reoccurring dates that we would just like to “show up on the calendar,” maybe linking to read further details without being able to register anymore for the course? Please let me know!

Hi, you would need to create those events so that they are shown separately instead of an ongoing event for a period of time.

Unfortunately, we would not be able to accept a support token for this request as these changes would require editing the core plugin and calendar.
