Hi My existing post was unresolved but closed so I’m posting this again. There isn’t much information on calculating the VAT correctly and I’m unclear as to how the tax section works. However it seems that if I create a ticket with the net price and then a percentage modifier of 20% then the ticket price is correct. But how can I stop the TAX field from appearing on the invoices with the empty VAT field. http://screencast.com/t/rn1nly9rP |

Hi there, I’m not sure how that extra line item with the empty VAT field is ending up on your invoice. Here’s a screenshot that shows what the default invoice template looks like where there isn’t the extra line. This might be one of two things. Either a default tax price type set up that’s unchecked in the ticket editor. Or it’s an extra section of markup in the invoice template editor. Can you check for either of these? If you haven’t made any changes to the invoice template, you can reset the template to ensure its using the default markup and shortcodes. |

Hi I think I was barking up the wrong tree – the phantom VAT line was due to this being entered into the ‘pricing’ section (in fact what is that area for because I couldn’t find anything written up about it). So for pricing to be correct I will instruct the client to add the vat modifier to every ticket. |

Do you mean the default pricing tab? |
|
yes I couldn’t find any information about what this section actually does |

Hi there, You can find information about the Default Pricing tab (and any other screen for that matter) by clicking the “Help” tab on the upper right corner of the screen. |

Hi I’ve looked at the help screen before I posted. Can I set up standard priced tickets with this which I can then select for forthcoming events? Is there an example of this being used as all I can see is ‘free admission’. |

Hi there, When you add a new default ticket, it doesn’t give you the option to select it. Instead, the ticket is added to the event by default when you create a new event. You can add a new default ticket by checking the box that says “use this new ticket as a default ticket for any new events” that appears at the bottom of the ticket editor. So if you add several standard priced tickets as default tickets, when you go to create a new event, you may have to delete any that you don’t want to use for that event. |
