Hi There,

I was busy with calendar add-on, and wild colors here indicate through the options and settings.
But I do get the colors featured in the calendar. In the legend to display these.

Does anyone advice?
Thanks in advance ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi there,

Have you enabled the category colours within the Calendar settings?

Event Espresso -> Calendar -> Basic Settings -> ‘Enable CSS for Categories’

Set that to yes and save.

Do you have multiple categories assigned to the event?

The calendar will use the first category ordered by ID and use the color assinged to that, for your events it looks like you have a lot of your events within the ‘Comfort activiteiten’ category which does not have a color set.

Currently you can’t order the categories on the events so EE is using the first category it finds and using its background colour (which in this case is nothing) so you cant use the feature with the way you have the events set up.

You could enable the category classes on the calendar:

Event Espresso -> Calendar -> Advanced Settings -> Disable Categories?

Set that to NO and each event will include the categories within its class which you can then use CSS to target and apply your own colours using that.

Would that work?

You will need to build out CSS rules for each of your categories to set the background color of the calendar elements.

For for example the

#espresso_calendar a.de-nieuwe-vliedberg {
    background-color: #dd9933;
}

Then for the Gasthuis events:

#espresso_calendar a.gasthuis {
    background-color: #38b7a6;
}

And so on for each of the category colors you need to apply.

You add these custom styles to either your themes style.css file if using a child theme, or we recommend using either the My Custom CSS or Reaktiv CSS Builder plugins to add custom styles such as these.

Note the order you add the styles is important, the last style set in any of the above ‘wins’ if you have multiple categories on an event, with the above if you have an event with both de-nieuwe-vliedberg and gasthuis then gasthuis would set the color as its last.
