It may help if you can clarify your question. A quick guess, if this is about avoiding overwriting the user account information, then you’ll go to Event Espresso > Registration Form > User Integration Settings then set Always sync contact information with WP user profile? to No, then click Save.
Will the tickets they buy for other people still show up in their account?
No. The registrations are linked to the user contact, if they use different contact details during the registration with the above setting, the registration is linked to a new contact, not the users, so they won’t show in the My Event section.
The email address used during the purchase should receive an email they can use to print the tickets.
Yes, I think this is the issue our client is having. Where they would like the customer to be able to login and buy tickets for other people, they also want to be able to have a record of that in the users account.

I’m assuming they add the registrations as single registrations in which ‘their’ EE contact is not a part of at all?
