This relates to Lorenzo’s reply to the two issues I brought out today on the need for drag and drop resorting as well as a bug regarding date ranges for tickets on EE4.
Lorenzo said that these will be addressed in the future. How far in the future, though, is unclear.
In addition, I’ve learned that none of the addons that are available with EE3 are available with EE4.
The Personal License costs $89.95 and comes with use of up to 5 add-ons, and the Business License costs $169.95 and comes with use of up to 30 add-ons. Problem is, when I paid for the Business License, I didn’t know that EE4 doesn’t come with all these addons, and our developer installed EE4 instead of EE3, apparently not aware of this, either.
So I paid a lot of extra money for features we don’t get access to now, which strikes me as unfair, especially since having had it installed, it would be too expensive and totally impractical to revert to EE3. Even with the Personal License at half the price, I would have paid for unavailable features.
Since EE4 is still Beta, and since I don’t recall being warned about all this as I made my purchase, I believe that a significant partial refund would be reasonable until the addons available now in EE3 are made available in EE4.
I like the product and can see that customer service and relations are superb. I just think that the presentation and promotion of EE4 could provide clear and repeated warning before install that the addons paid for aren’t yet available.
