Hi,

Now that I mostly understand my payment methods…I am confused as to how this all gets recorded in one place for accounting purposes.

This is the way I see it:

There are two things happening as far as money is concerned connected to my website.

1. I am taking payments via Stripe on the front end of my website. These transactions are being recorded then both on EE and on Stripe.

2. I am recording manual payments such as check, or cash on the back end of my website. The reason for this is to have them on my registrant lists for the class as paid attendees (right?) These transactions are only being recorded on EE.

The common denominator is that all payment information is being recorded in EE however there is no way to export the transaction information? Correct?

I know that you can export the Stripe information from the Stripe dashboard.

So my big question is when I receive a payment manually, not only do I need to record it on the backend of my website but I need to also put it, along with the exported Stripe information into accounting software such as quickbooks?

Is that how most businesses use this stuff?

Thanks,
Cindra

Hi Cindra,

We are unable to provide you with accounting recommendations. However, I can share where you can find the numbers.

The amount that a registrant pays is included in the registration CSV report.

You can go to Event Espresso –> Events. Then hover over the name of an event and click on Registrations. This page will have the registrants for this event. Scroll down and you’ll see a Registrations CSV report button.

We do not currently integrate with accounting software like Quickbooks so you would need to add this information into Quickbooks.

Please check with a CPA in your state for recommendations on how you should track payments in your accounting software.

Ok. I just wanted to know if I would need to add the info from EE to quickbooks and you answered that question.

Thanks.
