I am trying to customize the Waitlist promotion email and the test email generator does not seem to know how to generate a dummy reg_url_link() and gets confused.
Possible bug report:
1) Did – edited Waitlist plugin email template for Waitlist promotion; “Event Espresso – Editing Email Registration Promoted From Wait List Notification Template (Registrant Recipient)”. Saved. Clicked Test Send.
2) Expected: A test email to be sent to my testing email account.
3) Got: Error thrown: Call to a member function reg_url_link() on null
The messages system uses dummy data but in order to do so it needs to generate events, tickets, datetimes objects etc and so it uses the first event you created to build from.
There’s a known issue with the above if you have multiple tickets assigned to a single datetime in that event, if you remove the additional tickets the previews/test emails should work again.
So find the event with the lowest ID in Event Espresso -> Events and remove the additional tickets on the datetime within that event to ‘fix’ this.
