Hi!

Couldn’t find any other place to file bug reports, so I figured I’d put it here.

I’m using the 4.5.0.beta.32 version of Event Espresso, with the messaging system.

Whenever anyone sends out a message to participants, the default newsletter template (that is being used for sending) gets overwritten.

So, in stead of seeing the helpfull template texts (like “Place your subject here”), the users trying to message their participants will just see the complete newsletter that the last person sending such a message sent.

I know 4.5 is way down the road, so I don’t expect a fix to this any time soon, I just wanted to let you guys know.

Hi emarienborg,

This is actually expected behaviour currently.

The intention being that if the newsletter has the same content each time with minor tweaking then it will save the last used message. However I do see how you are using the newsletter templates and why this is causing problems in your use case.

I have created a ticket so this can be discussed with the developers.

Great, thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

Actually, saving the content would make sence, it it did so separately for each event. If it would also save who had previously recieved the message, that would be a feature high up on our wish list, at least.

In my setup the events differ so much in content, location etc that saving the content between them does’nt really help.

But at least then I know it’s expected behaviour, so I can warn the other users not to get confused when unknown content appears ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for your reply!

If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages.

Next to Newsletter you should see a ‘Create Custom’ button.

You can create as many custom templates as you need, then when sending the newsletter simply select that template.

If you alter the test within those templates before sending they will still save, but that will allow you to create multiple different templates that you may not need to edit in the first place.

Does that help?
