February 22 to February 25, 2022, Bluehost will be upgrading servers to PHP version 8.0+. (Active support for 7.4 ended in November at php.net.) Bluehost says they will work with me to keep the site going, but I wonder if an upgrade to EE4 will happen by then. Thank you.

Hi there,

I checked into this and currently, we can’t push an update for PHP8 compatibility with Event Espresso.

We do have an open ticket for and are we are actively working towards it but for the time being you’ll need to run PHP7 for full functionality.

Bluehost updated us to PHP 8.0.something, but I was able to switch back to 7.4.28 and their window for updating has passed, so I think we are ok! I tried it with the updated PHP and it seemed that the event calendar would not show, at least on Chrome, but most other features were working.
