Hi We are getting a strange pop-up error message on our blog page which seems related to EE. Can you help/advise? http://sassystirrers.com/blog/ Many thanks. |
Hi there, Currently Event Espresso does not appear to be active on that site, have you disabled it? I don’t see any error messages on the link above. |

I had enabled maintenance mode as bookings have packed up altogether. Tony Warwick is looking into this for me. Maintenance mode off now. Perhaps you guys could try and fix this. I have to go out now but the site is currently an embarrassment with no bookings possible. Thanks. |
I am Tony Warwick 🙂 Thank you for disabling maintenance mode however I still can’t see any error messages, they may be admin only. Can you post the error you see please? |

Hi Tony. The booking seems to be OK now. But the blog page still shows the error message. This is visible when logged in and when logged out. It was reported by an end user, I.e. a potential client of my client, when attempting to make a booking. |
This is all I can see on that link – http://take.ms/CXk5W |

Blog This shows as a pop-up with a red border, for about 10 secs, then disappears. On desktop and mobile. |
Hi there, That’s not a valid shortcode, do you know which page or post has that short code on it? |
|
|
No idea. |
|
Why would the error show up on the blog page? |

The reason the error shows up on the blog page is because there’s a post or page that has that invalid short code. One thing to keep in mind about that error, it’s only going to display for the logged in admin. Regular site users will not see it. You may be able to find the post or page that has that short code by going to the WP Posts page in the admin and put that short code in the search field to search through the posts. |

|
I’m not sure how you mean? The WP Posts page, is that the blog page? |
No, you go to the WordPress Dashboard, click on Posts, then search there. You can also search on the Pages admin page too. The invalid short code is somewhere in one of those posts or pages, and the Search field may help you find it. If you’re having trouble finding it, you can complete the form on this secure page and someone from EE support staff will find it. |
