Hi there,

On editing my events in EE, when I hit “Save”, “Publish” etc, instead of saving the changes or publishing the page, a blank white screen loads with the URL http://drsketchyireland.com/wp-admin/post.php. I can’t make any amendments or new event pages.

I have checked compatibility with theme/ theme updates etc and can’t find an issue. Can you help?
Thanks!

Hi there,

A whitescreen means a fatal error is being thrown.

If your host gives you a control panel (cPanel for example), they usually have a section for viewing server errors. If you have a section take a look if any errors show from Event Espresso?

If not you will need to enable WP_DEBUG on the site and test updating an event again, it should show the error on the page rather than a whitescreen.

If you can post that error here we can investigate further.

You guys are awesome, such a quick response to my post, thank you!

I put on the debug and tested updating as advised. Here is the error code:

Fatal error: Function name must be a string in /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/admin_pages/events/Events_Admin_Page.core.php on line 1029

That error means your server is running an older version of PHP that is no longer supported (5.3.29 to be exact) – http://php.net/supported-versions.php

I recommend contacting your host and have them update the server to use at least PHP5.6 or above (EE supports PHP7 but other plugins on your site may not)
