Hi: Is there a way to have a “bill me” option at payment time of the registration of an event?

I wouldn’t want this option to be displayed for all events, just very specific ones.

Thanks!

Hi Todd,

By ‘bill me’ I’m assuming you mean via invoice?

Is so you can use the Invoice gateway via Event Espresso -> Payment options. Then enabling the Invoice gateway. You can adjust the title/wording to suit.

Do you also have another payment gateway active currently?

Hi Tony: OK! I just found that. This does help me in order for me to send them an invoice, yes!

But, I apologize that I wasn’t specific enough.

I work closesly with a company that already “invoices” my attendees regularly. (This company sells them the product and supplies. I just do the teaching for it, but I am independent from them.) The attendees are asking to register through my website (Espresso) but be billed through the sales company.

I imagine this:
At registration, I would be notified that the attendee wanted to be invoiced through the separate sales company, but they are allowed to finish the registration. On my own, I would just invoice the company for the number of attendees that selected that option. (The attendee could also just choose to pay at the time of registration like normal.)

So, I see the “invoice” activation area currently is good to generate an actual invoice it appears, but I need an option to allow the selection of an invoice but NOT generate it! Backwards, I know!

Thanks

This gets tricky because any event with a price needs to be ‘finalized’ in order for EE to work properly.

Registrations are finalized when you use a gateway (whichever that may be)

In the case of invoices you need to click the ‘Complete your registration’ link after selecting invoice payments to finalize the registration. http://d.pr/i/ne34

You can hide the ‘Download PDF Invoice’ link using the CSS below and then you just need to offer instructions within the gateway itself.

#invoice-payment-option-form-dv .inline-link {
display: none;
}

Does that make sense?

What do you think of this solution? Just keep the Invoice feature as-is. In the description of the invoice, just state that they can pay me directly through the invoice OR it can be added to their bill with the sales company.

They need to send me an email to tell me which.

Plus, I’ll receive a notice (correct?) that says an invoice was generated. Then I can follow up with the same question.

This would add a little work, but maybe that would suffice.

Can the Invoice Option be turned on/off for particular events?

Hi Todd,

Not out of the box. One possible solution would involve doing some custom development where a meta field in the event editor could be used to indicate whether or not to offer the invoice option for that particular event. Please note that this will only work if you’re not using the Multi Event Registration add-on, since Multi Event Registration allows the registrant to add different events to the cart and check out all at once.

Hi Josh:

For what I am doing, no one would add multiple events to one cart. Can you help me do this?? Thanks!
