Hi, 1. Installed EE4 and seemed to work fine. Then I found out the Dutch translation was far from complete. 2. Uninstalled EE4 and installed EE3 but found it to be less useful than 4. 3. Uninstalled EE3 and installed EE4. And from then i experienced the site was ruined, blank page. I recognize elements of the problem in this post: 4. Manually deleted the EE folder and the site repaired. Can you please help me, to get EE4 up and running? Are there any EE3 files that should be deleted? The site is http://www.uitgeverijip.nl but its in development stage. Can i send login credentials? Eric |

Hi, The first thing to check is the pages created by EE. Probably the best thing to do is delete them all (even from trash) and deactivate and reactivate Event Espresso 4. This will recreate the pages with the correct shortcodes. |

Hello Dean, I managed to install EE3 and had it working. After your suggestion to delete the remaining pages, also from trash, i installed EE4 again. At first it says that EE4 is installed. But on activating it takes forever and finally it results in a blank page with this URL: http://uitgeverijip.nl/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_about Kind regards, |

Hi, I can’t see the page directly as it’s in your admin, but if you move to another admin page or refresh to your base admin url can EE (and everything else) be accessed? |
|
Nope … i can’t access wp-admin nor the root. Are there things i need to do in the database (to which i dont have access)? |
Hi Eric, Could you temporarily enable debugging for WordPress via your wp-config.php file? https://gist.github.com/848801a1173be464fbe7 The macro can be added towards the middle of your wp-config.php Then try activating Event Espresso again and allow some time for it to run. Then could you take a look at the debug.log here: /wp-content/debug.log Do you see anything related to Event Espresso? If so, could you copy and paste those references here? Be sure to set debug to false at the beginning of the macro afterwards and then save changes. Thanks — |

No, there should be no need to access the database, though perhaps reverting to a saved backup might be an option here. It’s likely the white screen held an error message but if you had WP_DEBUG turned off it wouldn’t be visible. Did you have EE3 active when you activated EE4? |
