HI we just went live with our website two days ago. It was working fine and beautifully–but I went and changed a date time on two events today and all of a sudden the whole website will not work. I can’t even log into my wordpress wp backend to have access to event expresso or anything else. I’ve pasted the error message below. I’ve contacted godaddy–from a server standpoint, they have done everything possible. They asked if I wanted them to disable “event espresso” and I declined because I don’t want to lose the work. How can we fix this? Thanks.

The following error occurred while attempting to instantiate “EventEspresso\core\domain\entities\shortcodes\EspressoTicketSelector”:
Class EventEspresso\core\services\cache\PostRelatedCacheManager does not exist
instantiation mode : 0) none EE_Registry – _create_object – 943

Hi there,

Have you recently updated Event Espresso? The error above indicates there is a least one file missing from your install.

You mentioned you didn’t want to disable Event Espresso as you don’t want to lose work, do you mean your events, registrations etc? (They are stored within the database and will not be removed if the plugin is deactivated/removed)

Or have you modified any of EE’s files and that’s what you don’t want to lose?

To get your site up and running you need to de-active and delete the current version of Event Espresso that is installed on your site, download a fresh copy from your account page and upload that to your site through Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add new -> Upload plugin.

If you’ve modified core files then those modificatiosn will be lost when you do this, as mentioned none of your event data will be removed.

Okay–I’ll forward this to my developer. I’m going to have go daddy disable event espresso in the meantime so that my site works. Then I’ll have the developer try to fix this appropriately–I or she will be in touch with any further questions. Thank you.

You’re most welcome, please do let us know if you have further questions.

One other note regarding the above, if your developer is modifying core EE files and that’s what you don’t want to lose it’s highly recommended the modifications are switched out to use some of the hooks or templates available within EE. The hooks we provide (there are many) allow for changing a lot of the output within EE so it’s usually not necessary to edit core.

We can provide point the developer in the right direction to switch over if needed.
