I am setting up an event site to sell tickets for children’s activities during school holidays. We are open every day over a school holiday and have 4 different tickets each day based on the duration the children want to stay. Do I create 4 tickets that are linked to the 5 days we are open each week or do I create 4 tickets each day (20 tickets in total)? For example if I create a datetime for Monday / Tuesday/ Wednesday / Thursday / Friday and I create tickets for Duration 1 / Duration 2 / Duration 3 / Duration 4 how do I know which attendee will arrive on Tuesday for Duration 2. OR should I create one datetime for the whole week Monday-Friday and separate tickets for Monday Duration 1 / Tuesday Duration 1 / Wednesday Duration 1 / Thursday Duration 1 / Friday Duration 2 and Monday Duration 2 / etc… I can’t seem to figure out a way for the first option to work but the second option seems very long winded!! Thanks |
Hi James, This is a good question, and it’d be great to know how the activity program itself is set up. For example, if I’m looking to sign up my kids to attend during the morning, would I be signing up for all 5 days or just one day? Or could it be a combination of any days with any duration? |

Hi Josh Our customers can pick any combination of tickets they need. It may be that they book 1 child in for Monday Duration 1, 2 children on Wednesday for Duration 4 and then 1 child on Friday for Duration 3. Hope that makes sense? James |
Hi James, Yes, it makes sense, and thanks for sharing the example. The best way to set this up would be use Event Espresso 4 and the Multi Event Registration add-on. How this will work is you’d have 5 events, one for Monday, one for Tuesday, and so on. If all the days are the same, you could start setting up a Monday Event, then you can set up a datetime for each duration and a price for each duration. Then you can copy the Monday event and modify the copy’s dates for the next day (Tuesday), then so on. Once that’s set up, they can add the durations and dates to a registration cart. We’re still working out a few finishing touches on the Multi Event Registration add-on for EE4, and working through testing it. So it’s not released yet. We anticipate releasing it sometime this month. Once it’s ready, that will be your best solution. |
