I am trying to find the best way to create a recurring events in ee4.
Creating one event and copying and pasting the date times slows the database (per another support question answered by Josh). He recommended I create on event per month with the 5 classes in it, and then just copy that month to month, which makes sense. But I have a few questions and need suggestions how to make this easier:
1. Duplicating the event does not duplicate the featured image :(. Should It. Its yet another step I need to add. :(. Is there a better way to do this?
2. Duplicating the event does not duplicate its promotions status, so now I have to remember to add the new monthly events to the promotions since I use group ons
Please let me know your thoughts as to how I can streamline this process. I have 7 events that repeat weekly and have to do this for every single one.
Event Espresso 4.9.45 (currently a release candidate) includes a fix for the featured image not getting copied over when an event is duplicated. There should be an update for Event Espresso 4 core this week.
With regards to promotions, I’m not sure what you mean be promotion status? Is that a promotion code you assign to events with the promotions add-on? If so could you use the Promotion’s “Apply Promo to ALL Scope Items” option (set it to Yes), which will make it so a promotion works for any event?
Update: Event Espresso 4.9.45 is released and is available as a 1-click update from your WP Dashboard’s Plugins page. You can trigger an update notice (if you don’t see one yet) by going to the Event Espresso > General Settings page then click on Save.
