Is it even possible or what is the best way to change specific words used in the public facing interface?

For instance, my client wanted to change:
– “event” to “course”
– “attendee” to “student”

Hi,

All of the text strings in Event Espresso are translation-ready. This means that they can be translated from English to another language, but that’s not limited to just other language. In other words, you can do an English to English translation to suit your specific use case.

The quickest way to add custom translation strings is use a translation function. The documentation has a code snippet example you can use to start with.
