The help says but there is no Base Price option in the drop down.
Add New Default Price
This page allows you to create a new default price for Event Espresso.
Type
This is the type of pricing. Available options are Base Price, Percent Discount, Dollar Discount, Percent Surcharge, Dollar Surcharge, Regional Tax, and Federal Tax.
Name
This is the name of the default pricing.
Description
This is the description for the default pricing.
Amount
This is the value of the default pricing and is shown as a flat amount or a percentage.

Hello,
That is a typo but you can still create a default ticket option and it will be available when new events that are created.
