We have a limited number of tickets to an event but we prefer to count the number of registrations against the available tickets – to include paid and pending status. see Supervisor Leadership pre-conference at http://tennesseeambulance.com/events/2015-midwinter-conference/
follow-up:
currently our site shows a large number of registrations but only a few paid. we want to be sure the tickets are sold out once we hit the maximum (40) registrations
Event Espresso 4 needs to create a registration record before it can associate a payment with it. By default, only paid registrations (registration information + payment) will count against the registration limit.
The default behavior can be changed in through the event editor (right area of event editor).
However, this may lead to inaccurate numbers since it will count paid registrations and pending registrations (those started but not finished).
Thanks. Just to clarify on changing the default event settings. Are you referring to the “Default Settings” and changing it from “Pending Payment” to “Approved”? I’m just not sure where your referring to on changing the default setting in the events.
If that is adjusted to automatically approve all registrations, then in theory someone could register 5 times in a few minutes and not pay and that would take away 5 spots from the total availability.
