Hello,
I have an issue with some of my events not displaying correctly with the shortcode of EE. theme Avada+fusion builder
https://www.ssmg.be/calendrier-des-formations/
on this page, the event name “Save the date – GJ Namur” and some others show the below shortcode, (all those with problems have been created recently)

I did contact Avada first, this is their answer

I do see the issue with this.
We had a similar issue come up with the Event Calendar plugin and it turned out to be a plugin issue that the event calendar devs fixed on their end. I’d recommend getting in touch with the Event Espress plugin developers; perhaps they need to to add a filter for shortcodes to not show there.

Hi,
You can actually remove those by going to Event Espresso > Events > Templates, then under the “Event List Pages” main heading, set “Display Description” to none. Then click the Save button.

this indeed hide the description for all events.
I was hoping to understand why only some events show the shortcode, where is the “bug” ?

you will notive that on those event displaying the fusion builder shortcode, at the end of the text, within the espresso-event-list-wrapper-dv, there is a link to (Hellip & plus;)
which i cannot locate in the html of my original event

Do the other events have the VC shortcode and do not have a handcrafted excerpt? Event Espresso does not have filters to parse out VC Shortcodes. That’s really a bug for VC to fix.

All the events are basically the same copy paste and end user edit the date and tickets infos

That doesn’t answer my question about the handcrafted excerpts. One thing to note is your site’s event RSS feed shows different content for the different events:
https://www.ssmg.be/evenements/feed/
In any case, you could remove the VC shortcodes from the event’s descriptions and the shortcodes will no longer display in unexpected places.

Hi Josh,
RSS will be disabled short term
The VC is fusion builder, integrated to avada. So far we have been able to use it to design a more interesting layout in the event description. It was a major feature to be able to do so and so removing the shortcode from fusion builder in the event description will get us back to a simple wysiwig which is not in line with the rest of the website.
I finally found that the “bug” occurs only on webpage where the Excerpt is empty, it is then easy to correct and place a text there that will appear correctly in the event list.
