Automatic Updates/ Support Key Issue

I renewed my support key last month and since then I am getting error messages about the automatic updates:

“An automatic update for Event Espresso is available but your Support License Key is invalid. Either you have entered the wrong key on the Event Espresso General Settings page (EE3+ users) or Your Organization Settings page (EE4+ users) OR you no longer have access to the updates for this plugin. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.”

I have reset this already once but the error message is now back about 1-2 weeks later. How do I fix this? I just went to the “Your Organization” settings page in my dashboard and did nothing other than click save and now the error is gone. What is it doing this repeatedly?

Hi there,

Looking over your account I cant see any reason for this to happen, I’ve also asked our sales team to take a look and confirm your account is set up correctly.

Are you using WordPress multisite or single?

I just went to the “Your Organization” settings page in my dashboard and did nothing other than click save and now the error is gone.

Saving the organization settings forces EE to check for updates and confirm your key which has now validated. It seems for some reason the previous check failed and threw the notice but there’s no record of a problem on your account.

Which add-ons do you currently have installed on the site?

The problem is now back and I am not “fixing” it until you get a chance to look into this. The only addons I am using is Mailchimp and Promotions. We are not a multisite either.

Hi there,

Do you have any other plugins that set a license key? If so, there may be some interference happening from one of those.
