Hi – I can see this message in my WP dashboard and I would like to resolve it:-

“Automatic updates cannot be setup for an EE addon because of an error in the file. Please contact support, and include a list of EE addons recently installed/updated.”

By add-on do you mean plugin? If so then a list of installed plugins is below. if not then where would I view them in the WP dashboard?

Hi,

Here’s how to resolve this:

1) Download the Events Calendar Add-on v2.2.7.p plugin from your account page
2) Go to your site’s WordPress → Plugins page and deactivate and delete the old version of the Calendar plugin
3) Upload the new plugin to your site via Dashboard → Plugins → Add New.
4) Activate the plugin.
5) Go to Event Espresso → Calendar and review/update your settings

Thanks again for your swift reply Josh.

I’ve followed your instructions on the development copy of my site and you can see the diary page here:-

http://explorehighland.enfield.nvisage.uk.com/activity-diary-2/

However, there appears to be some events missing when compared to the live site:-

http://www.explorehighland.com/activity-diary-2/

I can’t work out exactly what the difference is – perhaps only some of the categories are displaying?

Your assistance with this would be much appreciated.

(Please note that the development site is about 10 days out of date so there are some expected differences between the list of events)

Thank you

It looks like one of the two sites has either show_expired=true or
show_expired=false added to the calendar shortcode. Can you go in to edit the calendar page on each site and compare the shortcodes?

Hi – thanks again Josh.

Both have this exactly as the shortcode [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR]

Should I supply you with WP login details?

On the development site, switch the shortcode to use:

[ESPRESSO_CALENDAR show_expired=true]

What does it show then?

Since your development site has the newer version, you can expect some differences. For example, the older calendar plugin defaulted to show_expired=true, so if you want the newer version to work like the older version, you’ll add
show_expired=true to the [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR] shortcode.

e.g. change the shortcode to be [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR show_expired=true] on the site that has the new version of the calendar.
