I just received an emailthat that says….. “Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email. In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Event Espresso. First, visit your website (https://maskfitplus.ca/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://maskfitplus.ca/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_messages&action=edit_message_template&id=25&context=attendee&edit_message_template_nonce=e8c001579d&return=custom_mtps) and check for any visible issues. ” I reviewed this link in EE and it points to my Event Espresso Automated Upcoming Datetime Notification (REGISTRANT) emails. At first glance the content in 2 of the content windows is deleted BOTH in the Main Content and Event_List windows. HOWEVER….when I highlight with the mouse the contents in these windows, I see the my coding in HTMLL format only (in Visual and Text HTML views). Like it’s invisible. Can you please investigate and provide fix. This issue just occurred and is effecting all my Automated Upcoming Datetime Notification (EDIT REGISTRANT) Emails. |

Hi there, The email you are getting means a fata error is being thrown during the request and it sounds like it preventing some JS and/or CSS scripts from loading on the page. If you check the servers error logs from around the time the above page is loaded, can you see any errors listed? |

Where would I find this server log. |
Your host will usually have a section within your control panel to view any PHP errors being thrown by your site. If not, do you have FTP access to the site? Or file manager? And… are you comfortable using either of those? |

Hi there, Yes, that helps! Ok, so what language is your site set to use? Looks like there may be an issue with the translation file which I can get fixed up. |
Our site is set to English. We are a Canadian company. No French in our part of Canada. |
I double checked and the language the site is set to is…. English (Canada) |

OK, thank you. I’ve found the issue, it’s related to PHP8 tightening up its controls. We’ll push an update to fix this soon. |
Great. Will this an update for Event Espresso or the Automated Upcoming Datetime add on feature? |
It will be an update for the Automated Upcoming Event Notification Add-on (AUEN for short). I can give you the fix if you need to apply the fix now before we push the update? Within the add-on Line 208 and 209 should be

Hi there, We’ve just pushed update 1.0.6.p of the AUEN add-on live. If you don’t see the update on your site yet, go to Dashboard -> Event Espresso -> General Settings. Make no changes and just hit save to force an update check. The update should then show in Dashboard -> Plugins. |
