Hi! New problem with EE4. User integration auto login not working. I have set YES to forced login for register on an event. First step the users can login if they have an existing account. Great! If new user want to register, they can with the register link, I changed the registration form to ask for username and password. With the submit button, the users should logged in, and redirected to attendee information page. They redirected, but not logged in in wordpress. Please help me!

Hi there,

I changed the registration form to ask for username and password.

That should happen anyway when you select the ‘forced login for register’ option. Have you made you own changes to the reg form or do you mean by using that option?

Are you using a custom registration form or the default?

Also can you link us to one of your events so we can view this?

I used a plugin name l7 Login Customizer to add the password question to the standard wp login page. Here is a link to MY EVENT and the
Registration page

Oh, and I use another plugin to stop WP to send the password email. The EE login function should work, I use the default submit button on the default registration page. Please look after this proble! Many thanks!

Hi there,

Where might I download the other plugins you’re using to change the WordPress registration page and set the password email to not send? Those may be short circuiting the auto login functionality.

I wasn’t able to get that L7 login customizer plugin to add a password field, but you know what? When I tested this on my site (and your site) after I filled out the Register an account form, it redirected me to the event registration form. So it must at that point have the user logged in. Otherwise it would redirect them to a log in form. I guess my question is, why do you think the user isn’t logged in to WordPress at that point?

Hi! If a user loggin in with the EE login form or the WP login form, minimum the user e-mail is prefilled in the attendee information page. And if you navigate to the home page, the WP admin bar is there. If a new user registrating on the WP form, they redirected to the attendee information page, but the e-mail is not prefilled, and when they fill in the form, EE say that e-mail adress is already registered, and the user must log in. The user is there in the WP database. I am not really understand how the auto login work, but the problem is something plugin related maybe. I will turn off the plugins in question, let see what is happening. Is there a way to turn off EE auto login feature? Thanks

Uh I forgot that the password fields is a piece of code, not a plugin. Sorry. I deleted it, and turned off every other plugin. It seems that the default WP registration is broken. I cant register, in the e-mail I got a link, but WP say the password recovery link is not right. EE redirect me to the attendee information papge, but the user is not logged in, because I have to fill in the e-mail adress question, and EE say the user already exist, and must be logged in to continue, Can somebody explain how EE do the auto login function, and how I can disable it. EE seems not check if the person is logged in or not, just redirect. Thanky you!

Ok definitly EE problem. The EE auto login function not working. If I use the default WP login page with the plugin User Registration Aide. I can ask for password, and I can log in. When I try to register for an event, the e-mail adress is prefilled, and the registration process is running to the end fine. But if I use the EE link to do the registration, the submit button dont logging in the user, just redirect to the attendde information page.

Can somebody explain how EE do the auto login function, and how I can disable it.

Disable it? So you do not want users to log in?

I can’t view your event current as the site is in maintenance mode. Can you disable that so I can what happens please?

The login and redirect works fine on my test sites so need to narrow this down some.
