If I do NOT use the auto create users with registrations, will I later be able to download a list of all the people who have signed up for all my events? Or is the only way to get a list of all the people who have ever signed up for events available through this option?
No. You do not have to use the WP User Integration add-on to get a list of users who have registered. You can download the list of registrants from the Registrations area. This is a feature of Event Espresso Core.
I just wanted to note (for yourself and future readers) that Registrations onto an event are actually completely separate from ‘Users’ of your site.
The Event Espresso User Add-on can (and will) create Users for you using a attendees registration information as they register onto an event and we can link them together, but a ‘User’ created within EE is basically the same as manually adding a new User to your site with their own log in.
A User can be associated with many registrations, because the same person can register onto any number of events any number of times, each time creating a new registration for that event.
In short, Registrations are a part of Event Espresso, Users are a part of WordPress. The two can be linked but they are separate objects.
