I have read through every support topic related to Authorize.net SIM payments and nothing I am doing is solving my problem.

The transaction proceeds smoothly and redirects to authorize.net’s gateway. It never redirects properly upon completion and I get the error:

The reporting of this transaction to the Merchant has timed out. An e-mail has been sent to the merchant informing them of the error. The following is the result of the attempt to charge your credit card.

This transaction has been approved.

It is advisable for you to contact the merchant to verify that you will receive the product or service.

Steps I have taken:

FYI the website is at WP ENGINE

I had them enable the heartbeat API, and put the temporary filter in place as well
I had them remove the following pages from the cache

/events/
/registration-checkout/
/transactions/
/thank-you/
/registration-cancelled/

I have an SSL installed according to your recommendations

I increased the WP_MEMORMY_LIMIT to 256mb

Im really not sure where to go from here, please advise

Hi there,

Authnet SIM timeouts can be very tricky to troubleshoot because there are many different causes. Authorize.net has a list of potential causes here:

https://support.authorize.net/authkb/index?page=content&id=A663

The items that mention using a proxy, SNI certificates, and blocking https requests without a User-Agent string may be a factor related to hosting and should be verified with WPEngine. Also, you can check your Relay Response Settings in the Authnet account, those fields should actually be blank if you’re using Event Espresso 4.
