I have now setup Authorize.net as a payment gateway and Merchant account. I have transaction that says pending payment It was a decline with msg:“The merchant does not accept this type of credit card” However the transaction never made it authorize.net. Any suggestions?
Is this a new or recently opened Authorizenet account?
The reason I ask is that the account may have some fields set to required that Event Espresso does not use. For example, it may ask for business or company name but Event Espresso does not send this field.
Also, you may need to update the settings on the cards that are accepted through the merchant account:

Yes this is a new account. I had one transaction go through with success and the other transaction show pending payment with a decline (red) “The merchant does not accept this type of credit card” — I went into Authorize.net and checked my declined transaction and I had none. So I am assuming this transaction never made it to Authorize.net I am also using Authorize.net as my gateway. So the cards shoould be setup but I will double check.
Next, you may need to check with the reseller or bank that setup the merchant account.
For example American Express may require a separate billing agreement. This example applies to PayPal Pro but something similar may be happening here since this is a new account.
