I have set up all the options I can in the admin area. I have set the Send Test Transactions to Yes, but I have a live authorize.net account right now. I’m getting this error “error 103: This transaction cannot be accepted”. Is this because I have the test transactions set to Yes? I took a look at some of the settings my client made on Authorize.net and they had set up Password-Required mode to process their transactions. Could this also be the problem? They have another site using this account to accept payments, so what I do on Authorize.net could also affect the live site they have up. Any suggestions?

Here’s the explanation from Authorize.net for the Error 103:
https://support.authorize.net/authkb/index?page=content&id=A852

There they say the reasons can be:

A valid fingerprint or Transaction Key is required for this transaction.

This error is generated when your Authorize.Net account is in Password-Required Mode and you are not sending a valid Transaction Key or hash fingerprint with your transaction request. For security reasons we recommend always submitting a Transaction Key or hash fingerprint.

Also:

If you are using an older Authorize.Net account and you are using a password instead of a Transaction Key, you may experience this error. Please ensure that you are submitting your Transaction Key instead.

So you’ll need to be sure to enter the correct Transaction key in Event Espresso > Payment Methods Settings.

I am using the correct Transaction key and not a password.

Hello,

Does the other project that is able to accept payments via the existing account use the transaction key for processing or does it use a password?

The Authorizenet payment method for Event Espresso uses the API login and a transaction key so the password option would not be available for use.
