We are switching to the new Authorize.net Accept addon but are getting a error:

The billing form could not be displayed. Your web browser may not be supported. Please restart your registration using different browser and notify the site owner.

Looking at the console we found a 403 error for the file: https://www.bakerrisk.com/wp-content/plugins/eea-authnet-accept/iframe-communicator.php#action=resizeWindow&width=450&height=787.234

We contacted our hosting support, they checked the server settings and assured us they were not the cause for the 403 error. We also tried resetting the WordPress installation file permissions but still got the 403 error.

Is there anything else we should try?

Hi there,

The file in question:

https://www.bakerrisk.com/wp-content/plugins/eea-authnet-accept/iframe-communicator.php

Is a file sitting on your server and when you go directly to it like above, it should just load a blank page, the fact that your getting a 403 error means that ‘something’ on the server is blocking that request.

Now, I’m aware your host has checked and said it’s not the cause but there isn’t really much else it can be.

We had another user post a similar issue a while back and they found an option within the host’s control panel limiting direct PHP access here:

Do you have any similar within your hosts control panel?

Thanks for the reply.

There is no option for direct PHP access in Siteground, but their support was able to figure out that it was one of their SG Security plugin setting that was causing the issue. Disabling the “Lock and Protect System Folders” setting allowed the file to load and the checkout is now working.

The Authorize.net Accept iframe is but the width is narrow making a side scrolling bar. Is there a reason why the width is set to be so narrow? I can add an overriding style to the iframe to make it 100% but was wondering if that could cause issues.

Nice find.

Hmm, no, I don’t think there is a reason for that to be so narrow, setting it to be 100% shouldn’t cause any issues.

I’ll check with our developers on this.
