Hi. We’re into our first full use of using EE4 to manage our festival ticketing (approx 100 events over 10 days) and so far, running quite smoothly. We’ve hit one BIG problem though. Most events have door sales where cash is taken and the stewards return a list of door sales for each day to be added to the booked attendees and we cannot see how to do this. The event has gone from the front-end (perfect) but can still be seen by admins in the admin interface with a button to add registration, but this doesn’t work – just a message saying event has expired. Is there a way around this? This is important as for some events over 50% of attendees are door sales and we already have a significant backlog to enter. Without entering these sales our reports are way-off and useless. Help please? Can I override the expired check in any way? (I have PHP skills)

Hi there,
Currently, it is not possible to override the expired check so add these registrations you will need to temporarily adjust the datetime date (the event end date) so that the event is valid and then add the registrations and set the datetime back again when finished.
You can prevent users from registering on the event from the front end of the site when doing this by setting the ‘Display ticket selector’ to no – http://take.ms/4gXJv
You may also need to adjust the sell until date on the tickets you want to use so that you also have a valid ticket you can register onto.

OK. I’ve checked this and it does work (fortunately I had created an event template with all tickets given a sell-until date of midnight on the last day of the festival) but it’s still going to be very tedious with just over 100 events to process so some kind of override mechanism/option would be verywelcome! We’ll be reviewing how well EE has performed at the festival later in the year before deciding to use it again for next year – being able to do this easily next time would be a strong vote in its favour.
