I have a little bit of a unique problem that I’ve been working to find a solution for the past few days with no luck…so I’m hoping someone can offer some suggestions. First of all – I love this app – it’s working out well for our business. Thank you!
Just one thing we really need to make it flow smoothly…I need my staff (who have absolutely NO tech savy) to be able to view (and print off) a list of the attendees registered for the most current upcoming event (ie. today’s spin class). I’ve tried putting shortcode on a webpage but there’s no boolean to allow me to display only today’s events, or even the first 2 open events (we have 2 classes per day). I tried:

[LISTATTENDEES category_identifier=”spin” show_expired=”false” limit=2]

But no luck.
I thought about just having the page list all the open events – but that presents another problem…my recurring events are all titled the same (ie. Saturday Morning Spin Class) so when you view the lists of the attendees, you can’t tell which list is for which date. I’m not familiar with Meta Data – but is it something that could be used to put the event date into each attendee list?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have now added the start date to each event in my attendee list (in the attendee_list.php) – so that helps my problem a bit. It would be nice to be able to have a LISTATTENDEE shortcode for today’s events only though so my staff isn’t wasting so much paper every time they print off the list.

[LISTATTENDEES order_by=date(start_date) category_identifier=”spin” show_expired=”false”]

Almost does it for me…but the “order by start date” is secondary to the recurring event grouping, so I get all occurrences of a recurring event listed before all the occurrences of the next recurring event (hope that makes sense). I imagine it would work if they weren’t recurring – but I LOVE this feature! You can see my result here:

Hi Shannon —

I’m guessing that anything you do would require some custom coding/tweaking as we don’t have a feature that supports what you’re trying to do and the LISTATTENDEES shortcode is pretty general use. The only thing that I could suggest beyond what you’ve already done is to create a separate page for each event and add that event’s event identifier to the shortcode, but that would require a lot of work setting up all those pages. (That’s the only way I can think of to get a specific list for a specific event, though.)
