I have an issue with events that have passed – http://capechamber.co.za/events/agm-2015/. I have logged this with the theme authors but they say it’s an Event Espresso problem. There is clearly a conflict/bug but I am not sure with what.

Hi,

Are you referring to these errors?

{if $options->theme->general->favicon != ""} {/if} {includePart parts/seo} {googleAnalytics $options->theme->google->analyticsTrackingId} {wpHead} {!$options->theme->header->customJsCode} {var $searchFormClass = ""} {if $elements->unsortable[search-form]->display} {var $searchFormClass = $elements->unsortable[search-form]->option('type') != "" ? "search-form-type-".$elements->unsortable[search-form]->option('type') : "search-form-type-1"} {/if} {* usefull for inline scripts like facebook social plugins scripts, etc... *} {doAction ait-html-body-begin} {if $wp->isPage}
{else}
{/if}

And

{includePart parts/social-icons} {includePart parts/languages-switcher} {includePart "parts/woocommerce-cart"} {includePart portal/parts/header-resources}

{!html_entity_decode($wp->description)}

I’m not seeing anything that refers to Event Espresso at all. That looks like theme code to me. Also, I see some references to stuff like Woocommerce, language switcher, seo, google analytics, and customJsCode etc. But nothing referring to Event Espresso.

It would make sense to point to Event Espresso if the regular event pages weren’t working as expected, but it seems they are working fine:

Have you double checked the shortcodes on that particular page to make sure they are correct?

When you see PHP code being output onto a page, that’s a good indication that you are missing an opening PHP tag in your template somewhere.

Thanks Josh, I’m sure it’s shitty work by the theme developers but their support is also just as poor, and their first option is to blame something else. I really just need ammo to throw at them until they do what we have paid them for.

Another idea that you could pursue is use a different WP theme. All of the themes available here are not only free (some have paid upgrades), but they also have to pass a very thorough code review before they can be included in the directory.
