Hello!
I’m working on a project for a Wellness Center that is going to have classes (art, dance, yoga, etc.), events at the Center, as well as seminars. Attendees will have to register for classes and seminars because there is a fee attached. Events are free to the public.
We are running into an issue with the Event Archive page. We aren’t planning on using this page on our site because we need separate pages for classes, events, and seminars so we are just using shortcodes to display the necessary information on each page. Is there any way to get rid of the standard Archive Event listing page so it doesn’t get indexed with the rest of our site? It would be ideal to have a different slug for each of our pages – classes, events, and seminars.
Another main issue is the Archive Event page slug is /events/, but we have another events page we need to create that doesn’t include the other posts in Event Espresso – classes and seminars. Even if we called this page something else, it’s still the issue that it will be indexed and won’t make sense with the rest of the site.
You can change the slug of the standard archive event listing page by going to Event Espresso > Events > Templates and set the option field for Event Slug.
Then, you can set a redirection for that url on your site to go to another page. If you’re not sure how to do a redirection, I can recommend this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/
Awesome, did not think of that! We will give it a try and let you know if we have any more questions.
Thanks!
