I have corp clients that I register their staff manually for our events in EE4. I bill these registrants via invoice for all their staff. In the meantime for the same events, other individuals are registering themselves and paying for the same event via web online payment. The event fee per seat is $50 + 13% tax = $56.50.

When I manually register these corp staff, I add them manually, then show them as PAID (other methods) AND then apply a 100% discount with the Promotions plugin to ZERO the payment out. This 100% discount code does not deduct the $5.60 of tax and shows a status OVERPAID. *** I also tried 113% discount (to include tax and this did not work either*** How do I show a $0 charge for these manual entries. I use the exported EE4 registration records to accounting purposes as well.

The outcome I want is to to show our accountant 1) individual clients that paid via online for events via EE4 and 2) corporate clients that paid for our services via invoices.

What is the best and easiest way to do this in EE4?

I tried using a REFUND, but this did not work either as it left the registration record as INCOMPLETE! and it still showed the tax amount.

Hi there,

The outcome I want is to to show our accountant 1) individual clients that paid via online for events via EE4 and 2) corporate clients that paid for our services via invoices.

Apologies if I’m confused here, but would you not just apply a payment to the transaction and show it as paid via an invoice?

With regards to promotions affecting taxes, we have a setting for that:

Event Espresso -> Promotions -> Settings (tab at the top) ->
Promotions Affect Taxes.

Set that to Yes and promotions apply to taxes on the transaction when applied.

Is that what you are looking for?

Tony,

Yes, I was aware of the first option, but I want to zero it out. Im simpler for me. The second solution option is what I was looking for. I was not aware of the Promotions Affect Taxes flag. thanks!!
