I have set up a $ based PROMO code for an event. Works fine except when multiple purchases are made in same transaction.
For example, $30 discount.
When “Apply Promo to ALL Scope Items” set to NO it applies the discount only to the first purchase. ie $30 off first, 2nd and 3rd purchases no discount.
When set to YES, it applies a proportion to to each purchase. ie $10 of each of the three purchases.

What settings do I need to get the $30 off each/all purchase in the same transaction?

Thank you

Hi John,

I guess I’m misunderstanding the problem as it sounds like you need the Promotion to apply to all scope items, yet apparently, you’ve already tried that.

To explain a little more, promotions have ‘scopes’ and right now we only have a single scope, Events. Meaning that you can set promotions to apply only to specific events (set the above to No and then manually select which events the promotion applies to) or All events (set apply to all scope items to yes).

When registering onto multiple events if you have a promotion that applies to all scope items then the promotion applies to each event in the transaction.

3 events will mean the promotion applies 3 times and if your promotion is a fixed dollar discount of $30 that $30 taken off the subtotal for each event.

See: https://monosnap.com/file/spfsieGMZxcwd3BhYBqAWPwWtYoJ1H

(Note the same would happen if you set the promotion NOT to apply to all scope items but selected the 3 events that are in the cart to have the promotion apply to)

Unless you are looking to apply promotions to the tickets within the transaction? So the promotion applies to each individual ticket, meaning if you have 2 of Ticket X you’d get the discount of each ticket?

(We don’t currently have this available within EE I’m just trying to understand what you are trying to do)

Hi Tony
Sorry, my explanation was a bit confusing.

Let’s use the example of 1 person buys 3 tickets to 1 event. They apply the promo code to get a $30 discount.

What I want is the $30 promo to each ticket, not the total transaction / purchase. Ie $90 overall.

How do I set this up.

You can’t, the promotion would need a ‘ticket’ scope which we don’t currently have.

Promotions can currently only be applied at the event level at this time.

Thank you Tony,

Can you think of any possible workaround?

Can I suggest the functionality be included for future upgrades?

Can you think of any possible workaround?

I’m not aware of any other way you’ll be able to get per ticket discounts.

Would switching to a percentage-based discount not work for you?

Can I suggest the functionality be included for future upgrades?

Sure, we have a feature request for adding a ticket scope to the promotions add-on on our feature request/roadmap here:

https://trello.com/c/zCsClu98/112-promotions-add-ticket-scope-to-promotion

We use that roadmap to gauge feature requests and help determine which features we work on next (although its not the only metric we use) so I’d recommend adding your vote to the above card.
