Our choir has a holiday schedule of shows and a schedule of shows for the spring. Therefore we have a Spring category and a Holiday category. We would like to give a discount to people who buy a ticket from each category. How could I go about doing this?

It looks like the volume discount does not have this functionality built in.

Perhaps there is a way I could construct a shortcode that adds a holiday ticket and a spring ticket to the shopping cart and passes a hidden promo code. For example, the button would say buy a Friday night seasonal pass and when pressed event ID 1 + event ID 2 is added to the shopping cart with SEASONAL promo code applied. Thoughts?

Hi Hugh, the discount conditions in the core plugin for Event Espresso 3 along with the volume discount add-on would not be able to apply the discount that you need (e.g. apply discount when registrations occur from at least two event categories).

Please check with an Event Espresso professional here to see if this is something that could be done under custom coding:

Let me approach it from this angle. We are only talking about two shows. Therefore, I think I can create a ticket that is good for two dates: One in the Spring and one in the Fall. How does ticket scanning work in this situation?

My other concern is that are multiple venues are in play. Is this a problem or should I address this by creating a virtual venue for this ticket?

Hi Hugh,

The ticket with the QR code would provide access to the event.

Are there two events (e.g. one show is one event)? If so, you could create two new events with the already reduced pricing and hide those from the event listing page using CSS.

Then use the multiple event registration add-on to add both events to the cart with already reduced pricing.

See second example here:
